She wore the dress we bought.
She and Dad were always playing on the phone, either google translate or games. I lost track of who was winning that week. They both are pretty competitive people.
She took us to visit her school. We were able to meet the principal and most of her teachers. This teacher asked us to sit down. We learned alot and I am so appreciative of our first parent teacher conference that happened. She has so much potential. I can't wait to see how she is going to flourish during her lifetime. Her favorite subjects are art and music. Her least favorite is math. (Sounds alot like her brother Elijah, doesn't she?)
Back at the park. You can see the stripped awning in the background. That's the outdoor patio to the hotel restaurant, where we ate alot of meals. It was there that we discussed her name. OH MY WORD. We had a list of names that we had picked out. We had studied their meanings, thought about how they would sound in America, & how they would be accepted in our area, along with our last name. My two personal favorites were Sadie, which means princess, and Hope (I don't have to elaborate right?) Tsveta explained all our reasonings and how we prayed about all the names. We went through each and every one of the names. There were about 5 that we were asking her to choose from. We also told her we wanted to keep part of her current name, if she agreed.
Well, she had her mind made up. She picked out a name from an English story that she read. And evidentally it made an impact on her. Because there was no swaying. lol Her name was Aishe Leilya and now she is Isabell Ani. (Ani is the Bulgarian form of Aishe which is Turkish.) I still tell her all the time that she is a Sadie, but Isabell is growing on me. ;0) I just think it's funny because that was the one thing I really stressed over before we met her. There's no telling how many hours I made Andy suffer with our "name" talks. hehehe
Walking all over town on our shoe shopping trip. oye!
We looked in several stores in the mall looking for a pair of shoes. We went to another area, away from that shopping area. She was looking for a specific pair, like one of her friends. This was after lunch & with another social worker, an older man who really didn't have the patience for this shopping trip. lol It got to the point that ultimatums were being given. Finally after 3.5 hours of shopping and walking she ended up buying a pair from the first store (in the new area) that she absolutely hated from the beginning. OH BOY, is Andy in for a treat as these girls grow up. hehehe
This area was considered a little less safe, according to our guide. So, she made her hold my hand in this area. I never felt unsafe at all. I've definitely seen A LOT worse in many other countries. I really think she was just trying to push the bonding. Not that I am complaining. ;0)
